Greetings from Denmark. Hey, how the heck did I wind up here? After high school I headed to Waterloo where I was a confused student of the humanities. I majored in English, Philosophy, History and beer -not necessarily at the same time. After two years at Waterloo University I began working with mentally handicapped adults in Toronto and Ottawa (where my future wife also worked). She emigrated from Denmark to Canada and we were married in 1992. While working, I finished a BA in Religion at Carleton University. In 1994 my wife convinced me to move to Denmark - Her argument was that I could learn the language and she could complete her studies -and then we could move back to Canada after a couple of years. Yah right! So here I am still after 13 years. I did a BA in Danish and went to teacher's college here. Two beautiful kids came along the way - Jenifer is six and Jonathan is eight. I teach English, Danish and Religion at junior high here and am currently finishing my masters in Comparative Religion at the University of Copenhagen. I don't think I'll ever get out of school!

children's lauhter, playing hide and seek, long discussions about the meaning of life, telling and hearing good stories, good books, summer vacation, trips to Canada

workaday monotony, grumpy school teachers, school bells, Maybe I'm in the wrong profession?

Playing with my kids, swimming, going for long walks with the dog, reading, writing

yeah, Easter was good. Always busy. I had my family and Sam's parents over Sat night, 21 people, and Sunday we were at Sam's parents. I think I like Easter more than Christmas, because  there is less commercialism, maybe? not sure.

We got hit with snow Friday night too! although everyone in Ontario, I think, is wishing it to never snow again!!! Till next year of course. Today was like, 48 F so snow is almost gone!!

Hi. It's me again. It is funny how we keep meeting like this. hehe I had actually been thinking of emailing you, and then my friend asked me to join Facebook, and there you were:) You asked about church. Yes, I am still going to a Baptist Church. It has a very small congregation, but they are very good with the children. What about you?

Yo Danny,

Fascinating that you are in Denmark.  Perhaps this is naive for me to say, from a geographic and cultural standpoint, but my sister in law played professional ringette in Finland for a few years in the mid 90's and loved the lifestyle.  Is it accurate to say there are many similarities between Danes & Fins or did I just piss off 2 entire countries?

Ken
