Ahhh Grinvilla (Kudos Karen on the new venture,
let us all do our part to make this the next….
Gathering place) a place for all of us to gather
once again, recollect about the past 20 years of
our lives, reconnect, find each other. Many of us
are not much different than when we last talked or
seen each other all that time ago, but here we are
to share our successes: Life, family, careers,
achievements and for some Just how WOW – Who we
have become!! All successes in our own rights, the
lives we have all chosen and have lived are based
on the ground roots of where we come from and the
people we were associated with through out our
lives. And Well High School certainly did make an
impact and lasting impression on who we are and
for that I thank each and everyone of you that
shared that part of my life…
So on to that part about me!!!
Christina and Normy – No I am not a priest –
they wouldn’t accept me after my high school
years hanging out with the likes of Jeff, Mick,
Mike(s), Chad, Greg(s), SEAN (Yes he is capitals),
Gerry, Jason, Todd, Jason, Jeff(s) to name a few
and Jordy most of all. Ok I won’t even get into
you ladies!!! Sorry it just seemed like a fun
thing to put up to see the reaction – Am I going
to hell for this one?? SOMEONE please save me!!

So what ever did become of me…
After high school I spent a year Traveling back
and forth to St Clair College with Mandy, Daphne
and SEAN (Yes same as above), after a year of not
really sure of what I wanted to do so I moved to
Toronto to live with Jeff Brown and Tackle the big
city life and college at George Brown College, So
many good times, great memories and Lessons
learned, I did finish school there although
outside of actually working in the industry while
I was in school I never did put any of that
education to use – but it was the experience and
the lesson that was learned. And for all of you
that I did see during this period – No I did not
have Cancer and no I DID NOT DIE!!! A funny little
rumour I heard through the grapevine!!! Yes there
was a moment back in the Ninety’s I might have
seen a few of you, that was a bit of a scare but
all is good now. A little too healthy with a good
layer of Mature Insulation!!! Hey it gets cold up
her in the winter!!!
After School I was somewhat of a lost soul given
it was the recession of the early 90’s tourism
was not the trade to be in, Given I was living
just our side of the tourism capital (Niagra
Falls) with my Sister, I resounded to working in
the retail industry on the curt tails of my now
Brother in law. This “job” afforded me to live
in various different places like Niagara Falls St
Catherines, Hamilton, Oakville, Mississauga,
Timmins and eventually Ottawa. I settled into
Ottawa, it fit just right, Great small city, with
everything Toronto had to offer but a whole lot of
Leamington mentality, Friendly people, lots of
nature and well a little bit of water – We do
have two beaches on the river!! I have been here
about 17 years and well have put down some roots,
I have worked in the Commercial Real Estate
industry for ten of those years, went back to
school in 95 to shore up my accounting Knowledge
and more or less have been working in that field
in this industry for those ten years.
I have been blessed with my sister and her Family
being relocated about 8 Years ago to Ottawa and my
cousin from Newfoundland moved here for a work
term in 1999 only to return full time in 2000 and
brought along a great group of people I a now
consider my friends and second family. Ahhh so you
are all wondering – Is he? Did he? What about?
No, I have not been Married and no I do not have
any children – well any that I know of, If any
of you have any info you need to share please call
my Mom I am sure she would be pleased to hear it!!
She even sent me a card back in my TO days wishing
me a happy Father’s Day – I know something you
don’t know she wrote. NOT SOO FUNNY!! I have not
been with out great relationships over all these
years, I have had a couple of really great ones,
Some really bad ones and a few real learning
experiences along the way. I just have not found
that one person, I see some of you have found,
That is life lasting, the one the only, Perhaps I
missed her in my past, We get the things we desire
in our lives when we are ready for them. I guess I
am still working on it!!!
Well that is me – the short version of course
– It has been great walking down this road of
life – THANKS KAREN!!!. There are many more of
us out there that I am sure we are all working on
getting in touch with – Question is – What
happened to those 20 years and really Why is it so
hard to find the people that helped shape us to be
who we are!! I guess we all needed to grow a
little bit with out those comfort people to become
the people that we are today. Here we are all
looking at getting back together again, to share
what we have learned and where we have been – I
guess we will put these blocks on each others
foundations as well!!
It is great to see you all and that everyone is
doing so well!!!
