Blog Entry: I am VERY excited about my upcoming training opportunity in Guelph in October.
I will be one of the few Probation Officers in Ontario that will be qualified to assess the risk of a sex offender.
The risk assessment tool we use right now for our offenders does not accurately assess the risk of the sex-offender, they tend to come out low. So this tool called the Static 99 assesses their risk specifically.
So I get to learn how to sit across from a child molester in my office and not want to grab him by the back of the head and smash his face off my desk. This will be a big move forward!!
