Thought I would post this as an environmental thing...
Environment Canada says we're creating a toxic mess by throwing batteries in the garbage. Toxic substances in batteries, including lead and mercury, may leach into the environment from landfill sites. A recent study finds that by 2010, Canadians will be throwing out close to 500-million batteries a year. There is a battery drop off at Blacks Photography in Devonshire Mall, in Windsor.
There is a blue box that you can put them in...

What is our society doing???
DATE: 03/22/2007 23:22:36 / MOOD: confused
Well this might be a differnet kind of blog...but today when I was babysittig I was looking at a parenting magazine as that is all that I could find as there was nothing on tv....Well there was this really interesting article about girls....It shocked me in away but than really it didn't.
It was explaining that one mother was doing her nine year olds laundry and she found a thong and she couldn't understand why her nine year old would be wearing this!
It stated have half African Americans hit purberty at the age of eight and 15% of cacasins hit it much earlier as well...With this being said they aren't mature enough to handle guy situations when they are apporached it at an age like that. As well as sexual and early pregnancy.
With more and more girls wearing clothing that isn't appropriate to their age researchers have concluded that it was the medias fault. The researchers have found that the sexual content on tv has doubled since 1998!
What will happen down the road? Or what is our society doing? It's just scary seening girls at an early age dressing like they are 19 when they are only 9 or 10!
If this is unappropriate I can delete it.....Just thought it was an interesting read...
